Our Story

Words of CEO Chris Green

From a young age, I have been deeply fascinated by dogs and their behavior. At just four years old, my family rescued a yellow lab puppy from a shelter, and she became an integral part of our lives until her passing during my freshman year of college due to old age and cancer. Over the years, we welcomed several other dogs into our family, each one leaving a lasting impact and bringing immense joy. However, in 2013, my life took a pivotal turn.

At the time, I was working for a police department when one of our dispatchers told me about a dog that I had to meet. Despite my initial hesitation, the moment I laid eyes on this 7-month-old black German Shepherd, I knew he was meant to be with me. Jenks, as I named him, was my first shepherd, and he would not be my last. Over the next few years, Jenks taught me invaluable lessons that no book, video, or seminar could ever convey. He helped me train two more young shepherds I later adopted, passing on his knowledge and instincts in ways I couldn’t. Together, we trained them to track antlers and locate deer, assisting clients in recovering hundreds of animals.

Jenks profoundly shaped my approach to dog training and inspired the creation of Camelot Canine. His influence on me, and on the dogs he trained, was remarkable. Sadly, in the fall of 2022, just days before his 9th birthday, Jenks passed away from cancer. His legacy continues to be the driving force behind my passion for training and helping dogs.

In 2018, I met Karly, and we were married a year later. Shortly after, we welcomed our first son, Maverick, into the world. Around the same time, we discovered and purchased the property that is now Camelot Canine. Balancing a demanding career in law enforcement with building the kennel and training dogs to finance the project was a challenge, to say the least. For 10 months, I worked long hours, often coming home mentally and physically exhausted, only to put in more work building and training. The perseverance I developed through years of wrestling, football, MMA, and boxing pushed me to keep going.

On October 26, 2020, Camelot Canine officially opened its doors. Despite our initial anxieties about whether clients would come, we gradually grew through word of mouth. Over time, we have met incredible people and their equally remarkable dogs, forming strong relationships and building a thriving community.

In 2023, we welcomed our second son, Dutton, and as a family and business, we have continued to grow. At Camelot Canine, we are committed to providing exceptional service and care for dogs and their owners, and we look forward to welcoming you to our pack.
